Mission Statement

Throughout human history the arts have enhanced our individual and collective lives by providing unique expressions of emotion, intellect and spirit. The School of Fine Arts at the University of Connecticut affirms this universal significance. In our programs, scholarship and creative work the school balances our artistic and cultural legacy with the innovative approaches and techniques of today. In so doing the School of Fine Arts serves our students in both their educational and professional development.

In addition, we reach out to the student body as a whole and to our larger community, which extends from Storrs around the world. We commit ourselves to reflecting the multifaceted diversity of our constituency through our research and creative work, the content of our programs, and the recruitment of faculty, staff and students.
